Textured Engagement Photos

Here is one more image from that last engagement shoot. I originally didn’t include this one because I found some of the train cars in the background ugly. But, I like the composition of the diverging train tracks. Anna’s brother liked the photo as well, and asked for it to be Artistically Mastered.

I’ve been drawn to textured images for a while now. I haven’t been posting any or working with the technique much, since it is really popular right now. I’m not sure of the longevity of photos like this, and whether the look will stand the test of time. Still, I enjoy the moodiness that it can create. What do you think?

And after Anna’s chiding, I’ve gone and done a second one, just because I’m enjoying the experiment.

    Dude. My whole family is getting involved! Lucky you. ;)

    I am up in the air about the textured look. Because, for instance, if you look at the yellow train car– it looks super rad. But if you look at the blue tarp on the other train car, it looks only so-so.

    But I like the overall look for a rustic-like place like the train yard. It might be really awesome on one of those shots where we thought the Momma-bird was going to dive bomb your head while you were taking the pictures…just a thought. Don’t go do it– I am just saying there is less distraction in that picture.

    As far as standing the test of time? I like how high-school-yearbook-from-the-70’s it looks. :)

    I know, damn that blue tarp!

    Using a textured image on a really clean background like that grey/green car is easier to envision for sure, I might just go do it!

    Yeah, I knew I was going to add it . . .

    That one looks so good like that! :) It’s a really rad technique…

    I think it’s great that you are toying with this stuff…it is cool to see the outcome.

    You = teh awesomeness ;)
